Jessica's Friday Five: Book free holiday photos now (+ flu season prep)
Published 1 day ago • 2 min read
Hi Reader,
This weekend, I'll get to see my daughter perform in her first middle school concert band performance before we get on the road and head to an annual camping trip we love to do with friends every fall. I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend, and if not, this video will probably bring a smile to your face.
Let's get to your Friday Five!
Appreciation activity:This simple activity can boost morale at your next team meeting—you can even do this at an upcoming gathering of family and friends (especially as we’re entering gratitude season). Refer to the comments below for tips to modify the activity for a Zoom or video meeting. And, if you’re looking for more ways to show appreciation at work, I’ve got an appreciation toolkit just for you (it's free)!
I want to send you referrals! I'm discontinuing one-on-one coaching soon, so if you're a coach who could help people who reach out to me (typically looking for advice on being organized, team culture, or organizational design, structures, systems, and more), please let me know! I'd like to have a list of folks to refer when I hear from folks in need of coaching. I'll still be offering team workshops and retreats, as well as Joyfully Managed Worklife!
Holiday photo shoots: I love Shoott for getting professional photos taken. Their free mini photo shoots are great for holiday card photos or when you're visiting with family and want to capture everyone together. Book now to get yours done in time to send this year’s holiday cards.
Parenting in the Age of AI: I appreciated this piece by my friend Jason on how to think about parenting in the AI era. I think he's right that "winging it is not a strategy".
Now’s the time to make a cold and flu basket: As the temps drop and cold and flu season looms, one way to be more prepared is to put together a Cold & Flu Basket. We’ve been doing this for years, and it helps tremendously every time someone in our house gets the sniffles.
Bonus Sponsor Resource - Confetti: If you’re looking for new ideas to celebrate with your people during the holidays, you’ve got to try Confetti! Confetti has a catalog of exclusive experiences for you to discover, plan, and book. Book virtual holiday parties for your team at work, family group, or friends group you don't see enough. They have everything from holiday escape rooms, trivia, mixology classes, ugly sweater-making parties, cookie decorating, and more. Their parties start at prices under $200, making them pretty affordable for teams and small groups. This resource is from one of our Friday Five sponsors - thank you to them for keeping this newsletter free for readers!
Last Friday's Most-Clicked Link:The iPhone Life newsletter with daily phone tips - not surprising! I find it super helpful, too.
