Jessica's Friday Five: Game day prep, cookie season, and an email privacy fix

Hi Reader,

Well, you made it through several months of January. The groundhog says we have 6 more weeks of winter, though. I'm hanging in there by ordering a box of this new soup menu and revisiting photos and videos from our local Black History Month Oratorical event from last weekend that inspired the heck out of me.

Let's get to your Friday Five!

  1. Print for Sunday: If you'll be watching the Super Bowl this Sunday, I made this for you. It's just a fun sheet of "prop bets" (the silly things folks bet on, like the color of Gatorade tossed on the winning coach at the end and the first song Bad Bunny will sing at halftime). Feel free to have everyone in your crew fill out their own and follow along.
  2. Men's Retreats: My husband just got home from another Cairn and Sky Retreat. If you are a man who is interested in more meaning, connection, joy, adventure, and laughter in your life, you should check out their work. Or send it to a man in your life! Their next retreat is in October. Website here and Instagram here.
  3. Girl Scout Cookies: It's time for the annual Friday Five Girl Scout Cookie link collection! Let's all go order some cookies from the young entrepreneurs connected to our community. And consider sending cookies to someone whose day you could brighten - perhaps a friend in Minneapolis? Someone who's been snowed in recently, or dealing with sickness or loss? A colleague you want to appreciate? Feel free to share this link far and wide - drop it in the company Slack, group text, etc.
  4. AI in your email: If you're not feeling good about Gmail turning on AI access to your emails, here's a video (sent by a Joyfully Managed Worklife alumna, Ashley!) showing you how to easily turn it off.
  5. Follow Alli on LinkedIn: My friend Alli is sharing compelling stories this month about those who created space for others to lead, enabling collective liberation. I've loved reading these so far. Go follow her! She's also dropping wisdom on the regular about resolving conflict in the workplace.
